Treating Periodontitis
60 cases of acute periodontitis were treated with Qing Wei San. The results showed that the total effectiveness rate was 95%.
Treating toothache and swollen cheeks
60 cases of toothache and swollen cheeks were treated with Qing Wei San. Of the 60 cases treated, after 3 doses, the toothaches stopped and swelling was eliminated in 48 cases. 10 cases reached these results after 6 doses. 2 cases had recovered with more than 6 doses.
Treating Recurrent Ulcer of Mouth
The combination of Chinese with Western medicine was used to treat 30 cases of recurrent ulcers of the mouth.They rinsed out their mouths after each meal. Then the surface of ulcer was gently rubbed with 2% lidocaine.
Treatment lasted for 3 days, followed by a 4-day break. Two weeks constituted one course of treatment. The result showed 16 cases were resolved, 11 cases had significant improvement, 2 cases showed alleviation, and 1 case did not respond to the treatment.
Treating Bile-regurgitational Gastritis
Qing Wei San was used to treat 112 cases of bile-regurgitational gastritis. The disease was clinically divided into the 4 syndromes of heat in the spleen and stomach, heat in the liver and gallbladder, deficiency of the stomach-yin and incoordination between the liver and stomach.
Modified Qing Wei San (Tang) was used as the basic formula to treat the 4 syndromes. The result showed that 54 cases were cured, 36 cases had significant improvement, 14 cases had some improvement, 8 cases did not respond to the treatment. The total effective rate was 92.85%.
Treating halitosis
Qing Wei San was used to treat 32 cases of halitosis. The formula consisted of the following herbs: Huang Lian (Coptis Root), Dang Gui (Chinese Angelica Root), Mu Dan Pi (Moutan), Sheng Di Huang (Rehmannia Root) and Sheng Ma (Cimicifuga Rhizome). All cases showed improvement.
