Chuan Xiong Cha Tiao Wan
Indications:
Rhinitis, colds, flu, headaches, migraines, pain associated with paralysis, trigeminal neuralgia, etc.
Pharmacological Effects:
- Analgesic: Administration of Chuan Xiong Cha Tiao Wan was associated with a marked analgesic effect in mice, with onset of action starting 15 minuts after oral ingestion and lasting for approximately 3 hours.
- Anti-inflammatory: This formula has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects in mice and rats. The mechanism of this accion is related with the adrenal cortex, as effectiveness was voided in subjects whose adrenal glands had been curgically removed.
- Antipyretic: Administration of this formula has been shown to reduce fever in rats. The onset of action started aprox. 30 minuts after oral ingestion and duration of action was aprox. 2 hours.
Based on experimentations, it can be said that Chuan Xiong Cha Tiao Wan acts like a natural paracetamol.
Radix Saposhnikovia: antipyretic, analgesic, antiinflammatory, antimicrobial, tranquilizer, increases immunity, anticoagulant, antineoplastic.
Glycyrrhizae: The roots and rhizomes of Glycyrrhiza, possess properties which facilitate the removal of mucus in upper respiratory tract.
Herba Menthae: Its medicinal properties were already known in ancient Egypt and its active ingredient is indicated Mentol. Indicated for cramps, diarrhea, indigestion, flatus, vomiting, stomach pain, colds, fever, headaches, inflammation of the larynx and bronchitis.
